Sports broadcasting giant ESPN, mobile TV service provider MediaFLO USA and Verizon Wireless announced the launch of EXPN on V CAST Mobile TV, a new mobile channel that delivers live action, behind-the-scenes footage and analysis of the X Games 13 to mobile devices. EXPN will be available for the duration of the X Games, the annual multi-sport event spotlighting extreme sports like skateboarding and motocross. Live coverage begins Aug. 2 and concludes Aug. 5, and will include practices, qualifying events and event finals as well daily highlights.
Clips from past X Games events are airing now on EXPN. The dedicated channel will supplement live coverage of the X Games on ESPN Mobile TV. "This mobile TV first demonstrates how the FLO TV service is changing the way people watch sports," said Dan Novak, MediaFLO USA senior VP of programming and advertising. "With insider access to this flagship event, on-the-go sports fans can be a part of the action wherever they happen to be. We are thrilled to be working with ESPN to achieve yet another mobile entertainment milestone--exclusive, 24/7 mobile coverage of a global sporting event."
