Qualcomm has introduced a unified mobile TV chip that supports multiple standards: DVB-H, ISDB-T and Qualcomm's own MediaFLO. The chip, called the Universal Broadcast Modem (UBM), will be compatible with CDMA2000, WCDMA, and 3G handsets. Sample units of the chip should be available in the first quarter of 2007.
