Gowalla Integrates with Facebook Places
- As one of the first location services to integrate with Facebook, Gowalla is pleased to announce that we are bringing our efforts to a new level with our support of Facebook Places. Going forward, Gowalla Passport Holders will see stronger integrations of maps, custom Gowalla Passport Stamps, Photos, and comments from other users, within Facebook.
- The Gowalla user experience and interface will remain unchanged, but will bring additional value to Passport Holders who choose to connect with their Facebook accounts and share their check-ins, comments and photos.
- Gowalla will continue to deliver innovative features and content throughout its mobile applications and on the web, including the Trips feature, which lets businesses, organizations and individuals select favorite spots, places of interest, or even curated tours so others can explore the world around them - organizations ranging from National Geographic to USA Today and the Washington Post have created Trips on Gowalla.
- Most recently, Gowalla announced an innovative partnership with TOMS Shoes and AT&T to celebrate the upcoming delivery of the one-millionth shoe TOMS will have provided to a child in need. From August 16-29, Gowalla Passport Holders that check-in at electronics and apparel locations across the U.S. could become the lucky recipient of one of 1,000 pairs of TOMS shoes, an AT&T smartphone or netbook, or the grand prize of a trip for two to attend the one-millionth shoe drop in Argentina in September 2010.
