Sprint Zone app touts interactive subscriber services

Sprint (NYSE:S [1]) launched the free Sprint Zone application, promising subscribers tools to pay bills, manage accounts and check voice and data usage directly via their mobile device. Available now as an icon on the HTC Evo 4G, Samsung Intercept and BlackBerry Bold, with additional devices already in the pipeline, Sprint Zone includes My Sprint (offering account management tools and information), My Sprint News (updates and insight to enhance the wireless experience), Suggested Apps (recommendations spanning a variety of software categories) and Phone Tips and Tricks (videos and other media spotlighting device use). 

Sprint also is looking for developers to submit applications for inclusion within Sprint Zone. Developers can upload their software to the Sprint Apps Pitch Box [2] [3]--the operator said it will select new Sprint Zone apps according to relevance and customer experience, adding it will update featured apps on a regular basis to ensure an appealing subscriber experience. Sprint additionally will promote selected apps in its advertising campaigns, across social media platforms and via point-of-sale materials.
