Top U.S. manga company TokyoPop is getting together with gaming publisher Konami Digital Entertainment to launch mobile game titles based on hit manga series. Manga [1] is the Japanese word for comics and refers to Japanese comics when used in English. TokyoPop CEO Stu Levy said: ""We are very excited to be partnering with Konami to move TokyoPop's creative juice into the white-hot area of mobile gaming. Our two brands both stand for an East-meets-West aesthetic that really speaks out to fans worldwide." The first game to come out of the partnership is called "East Coast Rising": Users defend New York from hostile pirates and evil monsters that come from, that's right, New Jersey. Only the strong.
