Yesterday's report [1] that Sprint could be eyeing WiMAX as its next-generation network technology was quickly confirmed later in the day. Sprint outlined its 4G network plans in a press release, which generated a very quick response. In just hours, MobiTV, Nokia and--no surprise--the WiMAX Forum released statements of their own in support of the decision. Sprint's announcement clearly has pushed the WiMAX discussion into the mainstream.
