Cingular Wireless announced an exclusive content package culled from hip-hop superstar Jay-Z's recent Hangar Tour, which the carrier sponsored as part of its Cingular Sounds Live concert series. Comprising seven 30-minute sets in seven different cities over a single 24-hour period, the Hangar Tour celebrated the recent release of Kingdom Come, Jay-Z's first new recording since he announced a short-lived retirement in 2003. The album debuted atop the Billboard pop charts, selling more than 680,000 copies in its first week of release.
Live performances and behind-the-scenes footage from the Hangar Tour will debut this week on the carrier's Cingular Video 3G service before making the move to its MobiTV and MobiRadio services next week. Cingular will also team with download service Napster to package audio content as streaming tracks available exclusively from its Napster Mobile subsidiary.
