Mobile search solutions provider Medio Systems announced it will launch a mobile advertising network via Amp'd Mobile. The Medio MobileNow Ad Network will deliver sponsored ads alongside search results, promoting both Amp'd on-portal content as well as off-deck publishers and participating mobile site owners, all of whom will share in the resulting revenues. The MobileNow Ad Network initiative is based in large part on a contextual advertising platform developed by WebRelevance, which Medio acquired in 2006; the solution enables Medio to determine ad placement according to user demographics, click-through history and location. Medio said it plans to extend MobileNow to additional carriers in the next three months; the company's current partners include Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile and Telus Mobility.
Last week, Medio Systems announced several corporate milestones, delivering its 1.5 billionth subscriber search result since launching [1] via Telus in 2005 as well as reporting growth of 1.4 million new subscribers each month.
