Viral mobile entertainment network developer Zannel announced an agreement with Universal Pictures to promote the studio's upcoming comedy "Knocked Up," the new film from writer/director Judd Apatow (of "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" fame). Zannel will create a custom "Knocked Up" mobile channel including trailers, clips, TV spots and production stills--consumers may also send the content to other mobile phones or e-mail accounts via Zannel's Pass-It-On feature. In addition, Zannel and Universal will launch "Show Us Your Moves," a contest requiring entrants to upload mobile video clips or photos of their dance moves--finalists will be determined by Zannel community members.
"Universal Pictures recognizes the tremendous marketing opportunities in mobile entertainment, and this relationship with Zannel provides us with a compelling viral network with which to market and promote 'Knocked Up,'" said Universal Pictures' senior VP of digital marketing Doug Neil in a prepared statement. "We are very excited about this new, easily accessible and inherently viral way to distribute content and engage our target demographic."
