Reality entertainment producer Endemol has acquired a 25 percent stake in digital entertainment developer and distributor MoMedia. Although additional terms were not disclosed, Endemol said the acquisition was financed through a $30 million fund the firm created last year to invest in mobile, broadband, IPTV and video-on-demand services. London-based MoMedia develops and aggregates mobile multimedia that is distributed in 35 countries, by partners including Yahoo, AOL, BT Vision, MSN and Vodafone--according to Vodafone, the deal will expand its existing digital content production platform as well as accelerate production of new mobile entertainment properties.
