Mobile game developer and publisher Gameloft announced a worldwide multi-year, multi-game agreement with CBS Mobile to create and distribute games based on the hit primetime franchise CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. The first title, based on CSI: Miami, is now live in the U.S., with launches scheduled in 140 international markets. Gameloft and CBS Mobile developed the game in association with CSI executive producer and creator Anthony Zuiker, promising the gameplay will accurately evoke the storylines and atmosphere of the original television series.
"This is a new quality level of cross-platform development," said Cyriac Roeding, CBS Mobile executive VP. "By involving Anthony Zuiker, the creator of CSI, directly in the mobile game development, we will create much more than just a 'brand extension' of the CSI franchise. This is what we call true 'platforming' of content."
