News out of the CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival in New York City: Mobile music service provider Groove Mobile announced a worldwide licensing deal with independent media marketing and promotion firm Redeye Distribution. Redeye presently supervises physical and digital sales for more than 250 labels including Yep Roc, Arena Rock and Purple Feather, with an artist roster that includes Paul Weller, Nick Lowe and the Donnas.
"Today's collaboration is an important step for independent artists seeking to leverage the power of mobile music services," said Redeye Distribution digital sales and marketing exec Jim Logrando. "Tracks from our influential catalog of music will be available to fans directly, allowing artists to expand their audiences with the Groove Mobile platform, reaching millions of music fans worldwide."
