Qualcomm announced a series of organizational and leadership changes the wireless technologies developer said will unify its mobile services-related businesses. In addition to naming executive vice president Jeff Jacobs its first-ever CMO, Qualcomm will restructure its global business development organization into three overarching regional areas: Americas and India (headed by EVP Peggy Johnson, formerly president of the Qualcomm Internet Services/ MediaFLO Technologies division), Asia Pacific and Middle East (guided by EVP Jing Wang), and Africa and Europe (led by EVP Andrew Gilbert). In addition, Qualcomm will unify its services-related businesses--including QIS/MFT, Qualcomm Enterprise Services, Qualcomm Government Technologies, MediaFLO USA, Firethorn and Qualcomm MEMS Technology--under the helm of EVP Len Lauer.
