At the Cebit telecom trade show in Germany, Vodafone is demonstrating Otello, a new mobile search solution that enables users to submit image-based queries instead of text. According to Vodafone, subscribers may submit photos spanning from historic buildings to CD covers, receiving information relevant to the image. Vodafone is currently trialing Otello in cooperation with German newspaper Bild, encouraging readers to snap photos with their camera phones and transmit the images to the publication to receive additional photos and video content.
