CBS quietly launched Cbseyemobile.com, a new citizen journalism effort enabling viewers to upload video and still images of headline-worthy events from their mobile phones. CBS soft-launched the mobile service last week, encouraging users to submit content via email or MMS shortcode--for now, additional interactive features are scarce, and limited largely to user comments and story rankings. Cbseyemobile.com follows in the tradition of other citizen journalism efforts, most notably CNN's iReport--according to CBS, the service is primarily soliciting breaking news, weather, sports and political content.
