Three months after introducing its iTunes Movie Rentals [1] service, Apple announced that new movie releases from both major and independent film studios will now be available for digital purchase from the iTunes Store on the same day as their DVD release. New releases from 20th Century Fox, The Walt Disney Studios, Warner Bros., Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios Home Entertainment, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Lionsgate, Image Entertainment and First Look Studios will be available for $14.99, with most catalog titles priced at $9.99. New DVD releases available for purchase via iTunes this week include American Gangster and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, joining other recent Hollywood titles including Juno, Cloverfield and There Will Be Blood. Movies can be previewed, purchased and watched on the iPhone, iPod classic, iPod nano with video and iPod touch devices.
