Mobile entertainment destination Thumbplay announced a mobile content merchandising agreement with Cellular South, which the firm said heralds the first time a U.S. wireless operator has partnered with a direct-to-consumer content provider to populate its on-deck portal. Per terms of the agreement, Thumbplay will offer Cellular South customers more than 100,000 licensed songs, videos and games available both a la carte and via subscription. Thumbplay's content partners include EMI, Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and Sony Pictures Television.
