Alltel Wireless announced the launch of Alltel Mobile E-mail, promising subscribers more efficient access to their web-based personal and professional email accounts, contacts and calendar events. Launching on Windows Mobile devices and other select Alltel handsets like the Samsung Delve, LG Scoop and MotoRAZR V3a, the downloadable application offers users access to web services including AOL, Hotmail and Yahoo Mail--subscribers must enter their email username and password once to establish a connection to their mobile device. In addition, Alltel Mobile E-mail is also compatible with Microsoft Outlook Web Access, enabling users to sync their work calendars and contacts without IT support or additional software inside the firewall. Small and medium businesses can deploy and support Alltel Mobile E-mail via Seven's Workgroup Connector desktop software solution, which allows one computer to centrally manage mobile email access for up to 25 employees in addition to providing access to Microsoft Exchange and other POP/IMAP corporate email servers.
