Sandwich chain Subway announced the launch of Subway Now, a new mobile service enabling consumers in the New York City region to order food via SMS. To use the free service, customers must first register on the Subway Now website and enter their credit card information and address as well as a list of favorite sandwiches--from there, orders are submitted via text message, and Subway responds in kind with a text confirmation and pickup time. (Yes, customers must still visit their local Subway franchise to get their food--after all, that Jared dude didn't lose 250 lbs. by sitting around the house waiting for the delivery guy.)
