Verizon Wireless announced it will extend its collaboration with hip-hop producer extraordinaire Timbaland to create exclusive content available free to subscribers using Research In Motion's BlackBerry Storm touchscreen smartphone. Timbaland--who a year ago signed on [1] with Verizon's Mobile Producer in Residence program--will join R&B diva Rihanna on the Verizon Mobile Recording Studio Bus in Los Angeles to create an exclusive remix of her hit "Rehab." Verizon Wireless will release the remix Friday night as a free, online download offered solely for Storm users--to acquire the track, subscribers must visit www.VerizonTimbalandStorm.com and enter their Storm phone number.
According to Verizon, it will release additional Timbaland efforts in the months ahead--all content issued via the program will be exclusive to the Storm until the spring, when the operator will make the tracks available to all V Cast Music subscribers.
