AT&T announced it will offer daily live streaming coverage of the Coachella 2009 music festival, taking place this weekend in Indio, Calif. While AT&T will offer live webcast coverage on the AT&T Music site, it will also deliver select archived performances to wireless and U-verse subscribers, with 45 minutes of Friday's headliner performance by Paul McCartney airing live on mobile via MobiTV and MobiVJ. In addition to McCartney, AT&T promises performances from acts like the Killers, the Cure, Morrissey, Franz Ferdinand and M.I.A.
In addition to three-screen Coachella coverage, AT&T will sponsor the on-site "Cool Down and Charge Up with AT&T" tent, enabling festival-goers to recharge their handsets, interact with new technology and applications, and purchase ringtones, Answer Tones and full tracks from the operator's MEdia Mall.
