Wireless technologies provider Qualcomm announced an agreement to deploy its Plaza Mobile Internet widget platform across all of Latin American wireless operator América Móvil's 18 subsidiaries, reaching more than 190 million subscribers in the process. The Plaza offering will power América Móvil's own Ideas Widget service, promising users more efficient access to customizable mobile web content--users can also download and manage content from their device or online. According to Qualcomm, Plaza Mobile Internet enables publishers to develop widgets using open web standards and tools, allowing América Móvil to deliver targeted content to subscribers across its international network.
