Name: Jim Ryan
Why they were a mobile content leader: Ryan is a long-time carrier executive who worked for 02 in Europe before joining AT&T, where he spent several years as the company's vice president of consumer data services. While with AT&T he helped grow the business from $250 million to more than $4 billion in three years. He also helped develop the company's music downloading service and revamped the carrier's mobile Web service.
Career path: Ryan left AT&T in 2007 and became CEO of Mobile Campus. He joined mobile content firm Motricity in 2009.
Where they are now: Ryan is currently the chief strategy and marketing officer at Motricity.
