Gaming firms EA Mobile, Harmonix Music Systems and MTV Games will launch a new edition of the popular Rock Band franchise optimized for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch. Entertainment Weekly reports the game enables consumers to master either lead guitar, bass, drums or lead vocals by tapping their device screen--this particular mobile incarnation of Rock Band will feature more than 20 songs, including the Beastie Boys' "Sabotage," Pixies' "Debaser" and Motorhead's "Ace of Spades."
Developed by Harmonix, published by MTV Games and distributed by EA Distribution, Rock Band made its debut on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in late 2007--the franchise has since enjoyed sales close to 8 million units in the U.S., and made its mobile debut [1] in mid-September via Verizon Wireless.
