SAN DIEGO--Mobile startups squared off to claim top honors in the first CTIA Fund Fest, held today at the CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment conference. Fund Fest--offered in lieu of a traditional keynote presentation--pitted five developers pitching their applications to a panel of judges comprising analyst Andrew Seybold, CommNexus CEO Rory Moore and Qualcomm Ventures senior investment manager Quinn Li; in addition to the judges' selection, audience members named a People's Choice winner, voting via SMS. All five finalists received a complimentary exhibiting and marketing package for a 2010 CTIA event valued at more than $25,000. According to CTIA, the finalists were selected from more than 100 applicants.
