Ereader solutions provider Skiff announced and network partner Sprint announced they will preview the new Skiff Reader device this week during the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Optimized for newspaper and magazine content, the Skiff Reader features an 11.5-inch touchscreen boasting resolution of 1200 x 1600 pixels--the non-glass display is instead manufactured from a thin, flexible sheet of stainless-steel foil, developed in conjunction with LG Display. In addition to books, periodicals and digital content purchased via the accompanying Skiff Store, the device also can house users' personal and work documents.
Sprint will provide 3G connectivity for all of Skiff's dedicated ereader devices in the U.S., and plans to make the Skiff Reader available for purchase at more than 1,000 of its retail locations later this year. Along with 3G, the Skiff reader also supports WiFi connectivity.
