Verizon Wireless announced the launch of the NBC Olympics: Vancouver 2010 channel via V Cast Video, just one component of the operator's multi-platform Winter Olympic Games coverage in partnership with NBC Universal. Beginning with the games' Feb. 12 opening ceremonies, Verizon Wireless will offer content spanning the V Cast mobile platform as well as video on demand, high-definition television and broadband--according to Verizon, its FiOS TV effort will deliver more than 835 hours of programming, the most total hours ever for a Winter Olympics broadcast. The NBC Olympics: Vancouver 2010 mobile effort will spotlight athlete profiles and video on individual sports--in addition, Verizon Wireless will feature daily updates, results and other news via V Cast Video's NBC Sports and NBC News channels and on V Cast Mobile TV's NBC2Go channel.
