Mobile media and marketing firm LSN Mobile announced an agreement with Hispanic broadcasting giant Telemundo to launch a series of free, advertiser-supported iPhone applications spotlighting local content from Spanish-language stations across the U.S. All nine markets in Telemundo's A La Mano group--Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, Miami, New York, San Jose, Houston, Puerto Rico and Phoenix.--will headline their own iPhone app, offering consumers access to local news, weather, sports and entertainment, complete with video and photo slideshows. The apps will also feature lottery numbers and horoscopes.
Telemundo--a division of NBC Universal--delivers Spanish-language broadcast content reaching 93 percent of U.S. Hispanic viewers in 210 markets. Its network includes 15 owned-and-operated stations, 45 broadcast affiliates and 800 cable affiliates.
