Alex Bloom - mobile content memory lane

Name: Alex Bloom

Why they were a mobile content leader: Bloom's experience heading up the content and programming at Verizon Wireless aptly prepared him for his long-standing career in the mobile content industry. Bloom is a frequent speaker (he'll be speaking at the CTIA Wireless IT and Entertainment conference next week) and a knowledgeable observer.

Career path: After 11 years at Verizon, Bloom joined Motricity, where he headed up the firm's smartphone business, before moving over to Handango where he is now the CEO. Bloom replaced Bill Stone (another Verizon Wireless veteran) who left Handango in February 2009 to head up Qualcomm's FloTV.

Where they are now: CEO of Handango since February 2009.
