Anthem - Top Mobile Apps Revisited 2007
App: Anthem
Company: Intercasting
Year it was a top mobile app: 2007
Why it was a Top Mobile App: Social networking sites like Facebook were gathering momentum, and Intercasting's Anthem application was an intuitive addition to the landscape. The app's user interface combined a range of Web-based social networking sites, meaning operator partners weren't forced to pick and choose which ones they supported. Essentially, Anthem allowed users to document their lives as events happened, and not after the fact. Click here for more.
Its current status: In June, Good Technology acquired Intercasting. The application has since been melded with some aspects of Good's own mobile focus, particularly synchronization and push technology. Wall posts and event invitations can be pushed to a user's device in the background, and the app allows users flexible and interactive access to not only social networking sites, but other sources of data. The app is offered in different flavors through AT&T Mobility, Sprint Nextel and Verizon Wireless, and Good is set to announce another major partner soon.
