Name: Dale Knoop

Why they were a mobile content leader: Knoop, an early champion of mobile TV, oversaw Sprint's mobile TV efforts that led to Sprint winning an Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Engineering Development in 2005.

Career path: As the general manager of multimedia for Sprint, Knoop helped launch Sprint TV. He then joined mobile TV firm MobiTV, where he managed the company's mobile and PC business.

Where they are now: Knoop is the president, CEO and CFO of Ruxter, a mobile startup that helps companies create mobile Web sites.
