Why it was a Top Mobile App: Mobile gaming was linked with viral marketing in the Frogger application, and gave Frogger players the ability to share the game with their friends. Gamers simply selected a command from the game's menu, entered in the recipient's information and then sent an invitation. In only a few clicks, the recipient could then download the game onto their phone via technology that automatically found and downloaded the appropriate version for that user's handset. Its current status: Cascada Mobile CEO Alan Lysne said the Frogger application is still around and is still being distributed throughout the company's system, but could not provide any other information. In the age of social networking and sharing games via Facebook, it appears this is another business model that is now a relic of the past.
