Greg Clayman - mobile content memory lane

Tools

Name: Greg Clayman

Why they were a mobile content leader: Who can forget Greg Clayman's keynote appearance at the March 2007 Mobile Entertainment Live! event? His keynote started with five hooded, track-suited hip-hop dancers--one of whom turned out to be Clayman himself. The then-MTV senior VP of mobile media explained he couldn't dance like that even two weeks ago, but "Dances from tha Hood"--a new MTV how-to series produced for the mobile platform--changed all that. Clayman's daring keynote was just one example of his leadership in the mobile arena. Under Clayman's watch MTV has become known for its innovative and aggressive mobile agenda.

Career path: Clayman's wireless roots started in 1999 when he co-founded UPOC Networks, a cross-carrier text messaging company where he served as vice president of marketing, sales and business development. He then joined MTV Networks as vice president of MTVN Mobile Media, where he managed the company's mobile partnerships and content distribution.

Where they are now: Clayman was promoted in 2008 to executive vice president, digital distribution and business development at MTV Networks.
