LG 3D S-Class UI - Mobile UI Advances 2009
LG Electronics' new Arena multimedia touchscreen phone, unveiled at February's Mobile World Congress event, also introduces the handset maker's 3D S-Class User Interface, which promises users a more direct and efficient gateway to music, video clips and photos. According to LG, the 3D S-Class UI was designed expressly to eliminate unnecessary menus and steps--at its core is a three-dimensional cube layout that encompasses four customizable home screens, enabling users to access different multimedia features by flipping the cube with the flick of a finger. In addition, touch-enabled 3D Reel Scrolling menus list off available multimedia options a la reels of film. No wonder LG reported advance unit orders in excess of 1 million prior to the Arena's March 2009 premiere.
