Name: Trip Hawkins
Why they were a mobile content leader: If you are a gamer, Hawkins needs no introduction. As the founder of Electronic Arts, Hawkins built the company into the powerhouse it is today. He took that deep knowledge of gaming and brought it to the mobile world in 2003, when he founded Digital Chocolate. The company has found success thanks to Apple's App Store, where its games are getting traction with consumers. Between paid and free apps, Digital Chocolate says it has had more than 30 million downloads via the App Store.
Career path: Hawkins was Apple's director of strategy and marketing before founding Electronic Arts in 1982. After leaving EA, Hawkins went on to start 3DO, a video game console company that later folded. In 2003, he founded Digital Chocolate.
