Action Engine intros IM for on-device portals

On-device portal solutions provider Action Engine announced the launch of an integrated instant messenger service for ODPs, promising its content and media partners an outlet for their consumers to chat or IM without leaving the portal in question. Action Engine's IM service transmits each individual message over the network without refreshing the entire page, enabling a faster chat experience with fewer network delays than conventional mobile web IM. The firm will initially deploy the service within the AOL MyMobile on-device portal, which is available in beta across the Windows Mobile platform.
