AdMob closes $15.7 million Series C round

Tools

Mobile advertising marketplace AdMob announced the close of a $15.7 million Series C investment round totaling $15.7 million, adding it has also achieved cash-flow positive results. Sequoia Capital's Growth Fund led the round, with existing investor Accel Partners also participating. AdMob says the funding is earmarked for a series of strategic investments including hiring local staff and adding new language interfaces in the Western Europe, India, South Africa and Japan markets, enhancing investment in the firm's targeting, optimization and ad serving algorithm efforts, expanding its offerings for both publishers and advertisers and growing its sales and business development teams.

According to AdMob, its publisher network now encompasses more than 6,000 partners worldwide, including recent additions MySpace and MovieTickets.com. Last week, AdMob released results of its latest Mobile Metrics Report, noting that monthly mobile ad requests across its global network tripled from 1.6 billion in September 2007 to 5.1 billion in September 2008.
