AdMob serves 1 billion ads in July

Mobile advertising marketplace AdMob announced it served over one billion ads in July, in addition to breaking the five million ad threshold since the company's December 2006 inception. The AdMob Marketplace now features more than 2,000 mobile websites and hundreds of brand and direct response advertisers including Starbucks, MSN, Atlantic Records, Electronic Arts and JCPenney, with distribution across 160 international markets. According to AdMob, 45 percent of its total impressions are served in the U.S. market, followed by South Africa, United Kingdom, India, Germany, Australia, and Israel. "AdMob's growth is a testament to the growth of the mobile internet and proof that advertising business models are viable in mobile," said Omar Hamoui, AdMob CEO.
