Adult content storefront launches on Android

Tools

Mobile adult application marketplace MiKandi announced its portal and mobile client are now available for Android devices, promising developers an alternative channel to market, monetize and deliver adult-themed mobile content in the face of traditional app store restrictions. As Phandroid notes, Google's Android Market blocks developers from incorporating adult content into their Android applications--however, users 18 and over who visit MiKandi.com can download the MiKandi App Store client, which functions as a hub for available premium and free applications and enables over-the-air installation to Android phones. MiKandi adds that developers can include multiple screenshots and YouTube video clips within its mobile catalog, and says it plans to launch on other device platforms as well.

MiKandi offers payouts on premium apps via PayPal or Amazon Payments, adding that unspecified transaction fees will apply. Phandroid reports that its initial attempts to download content from MiKandi proved unsuccessful, casting doubt over whether the firm will be able to execute its plans.
