Alltel adds SpinVox voice-to-screen messaging

SpinVox announced an agreement with Alltel Wireless to launch the voice-to-screen messaging provider's service in the fourth quarter of 2007. The SpinVox service converts voice messages to text and sends them directly to subscriber handsets, enabling users to see who called, read what they said and call or text in response. SpinVox operates via any SMS-capable device and requires no software download.

SpinVox said the service is the product of four years of research and development. "As a managed service provider any network or service can rapidly and cost-effectively implement SpinVox Voice-to-Screen products and deliver true service value-add," said Christina Domecq, SpinVox co-founder and CEO.
