Alltel dials in podcasts

Alltel has become the first wireless operator to offer subscribers the ability to download podcasts to their mobile phones via a new service called Axcess Mobilcast. The carrier tapped Melodeo to provide the technology behind the service. Melodeo's Mobilcast technology also is available directly to other wireless subscribers as a direct download. Alltel is offering the new service for $4 a month.
