Alltel, mSpot duet on OTA music service

Tools

Alltel Wireless announced it will launch its first over-the-air mobile-to-PC music service in collaboration with mobile media services provider mSpot. Alltel's Music Powered by Celltop service enables subscribers to access their non-DRM-protected music libraries via wireless device--the mSpot Remix mobile player connects with the consumer's PC over Alltel's network, downloads the entire track during playback and saves the content to the phone's memory card. Music Powered by Celltop is currently available on the new Motorokr Z6m device for $3.99 per month, or $9.99 for a three-month subscription--Alltel said it will launch the service on other Celltop-capable handsets in the months ahead.
