Alltel premieres social video app

Alltel Wireless announced a partnership with mobile video services provider Transpera to launch Alltel Social Video, a new application enabling subscribers to share and rate videos from a variety of online outlets. For $2.99 per month, Alltel customers can access, critique and forward clips from digital sites including AtomFilms, GrindTV.com and Break.com; subscribers may also search for videos across channels, assemble custom playlists and manage distribution lists. "Alltel Social Video allows our customers to interact with video and lets them become part of an online video community," said Alltel director of messaging and voice services Craig Kirkland in a prepared statement.
