Analyst: Apple to go mobile in '08-'09

Tools

American Technology Research analyst Shaw Wu reaffirmed his claims from a few weeks ago that Apple is working on mobile phone technology. But he did caution that, with Apple, "nothing is final until it is final." Wu also claims that the speculation circulating the Internet about Apple's "much-hyped imminent entry is overdone." While the move is "inevitable," it's not imminent: Wu said the company won't introduce a mobile phone until 2007 or, more likely, in 2008-2009. Apple's partner Motorola will churn out more iTunes-integrated phones in the meantime. Wu also stoked the flames of the Apple MVNO rumor, saying such a move is possible.
