AOL intros new mobile search service
AOL launched a beta version of its new AOL Mobile Search service spotlighting content from properties including Moviefone, MapQuest and AOL CityGuide. Like the traditional AOL Search service, the new mobile platform is powered by Google--the web services giant promises consumers relevant results via an approach AOL execs have dubbed "action-oriented information access," with new and updated features including Click2Call, which enables users to tap any phone number included in the search results to initiate a call. AOL Mobile Search also features tabs to simplify rotation between web, local and news results. Mobile advertising solutions include display ads from Third Screen Media and Ingenio.
