Apple's iTunes 9 to feature social networking integration?
Speculation continues to grow that Apple will introduce a new version of its iTunes digital media player application in September--now Boy Genius Report is contending the updated software will feature social networking integration, anticipating the computing giant's larger push into the social media sphere. According to BGR, Apple plans to tie the forthcoming iTunes 9 into a larger social application that will consolidate all of a user's social networking activities--however, it is not known whether the application will target the iPhone, the desktop or both platforms.
The Apple social app will allow users to broadcast information on the iTunes music they're currently listening to, complete with musical status updates. In addition, users may simultaneously push out updates across all of their social networks. Boy Genius Report previously stated iTunes 9 will include a feature enabling consumers to visually organize and arrange their iPhone and iPod touch applications.
