With Apple slated to introduce its new iOS 4 software update next week, the computing giant issued the revamped iTunes 9.2, promising a series of new features designed to guarantee compatibility with the upgraded operating system. According to Apple, iTunes 9.2 incorporates features including:

- Syncing and reading e-books (with iBooks 1.1 installed)
- Syncing PDF documents as books
- Utilizing new folders feature for organizing apps

Apple unveiled both iPhone 4 and iOS 4 at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference event earlier this month. Called "the most advanced mobile operating system in the world" by Apple CEO Steve Jobs, the revamped OS includes 100 new features and 1,500 new APIs, highlighted by the introduction of multitasking, folders, a unified inbox and expanded search options. iPhone 4 itself boasts Apple's new FaceTime video calling solution, the new Retina display, a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, HD video recording, support for iBooks, Apple's A4 processor and a three-axis gyro that should herald significant strides in mobile gaming.
