Audiobooks.com intros cloud-based service for iOS, Android
Audiobooks.com introduced a cloud-based audio book service offering iOS and Android device users unlimited access to thousands of titles for $24.95 per month.
Audiobooks.com promises anywhere/anytime access via the mobile browser, with no downloads or storage constraints--with the firm's proprietary cloudmark sync technology, subscribers can mark their place and resume listening at the same spot from any Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) or Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) device, laptop or PC without using a browser plug-in or dedicated app. Audiobooks.com adds that consumers never need to return books and may cancel their subscription at any time.
Audiobooks.com launched in early 2011, offering popular titles across a variety of fiction and non-fiction genres including mystery, horror, romance and sci-fi/fantasy. Audiobooks.com is a subsidiary of CD-based audio books rental service Simply Audiobooks.
