Bango reports growth in cross-border content sales
Mobile content platform developer Bango reports that 30 percent of mobile content purchases reported by its community of content providers derive from cross-border international sales, up from 5 percent a year ago. According to Bango, the mobile web is enabling business to reach overseas markets, a trend expected to grow more than 55 percent within the next year--content providers are stimulating cross-border sales by publishing mobile URLs on their websites, mobile search engine listings and sponsored links the search results. "Businesses often start by selling mobile content in their own country," said Bango senior VP of marketing Anil Malhotra in a prepared statement. "But they soon realize they have visitors from all around the world with minimal promotional effort. Because Bango solutions are global, businesses can leverage the mobile web to quickly and easily capture sales from a worldwide audience."
