Big Ten Network extends live football to iOS devices with BTN2Go
With the 2011 college football season coming up fast, cable's Big Ten Network unveiled BTN2Go, a free multi-platform effort that expands live programming to the web, as well as devices running Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL) iOS mobile operating system. Specific launch dates are forthcoming.
Available exclusively through participating Big Ten Network cable, satellite and telecom distribution partners, BTN2Go touts a live feed of all BTN linear programming, highlighted by more than 40 football games, more than 100 men's basketball games and hundreds of other events spanning the collegiate sports spectrum. BTN2Go also features on-demand access to original BTN series including The Journey, Big Ten Icons, Big Ten's Best and The Big Ten's Greatest Games, along with game highlights and coaches' shows.
Co-owned by the Big Ten Conference and Fox Entertainment, the Big Ten Network launched in August 2007 and is now available in an estimated 73 million households across the U.S. via deals with providers including Comcast, Cox Communications, Time Warner Cable, DirecTV and Dish Network. Big Ten Network is the first internationally distributed network dedicated to covering a single collegiate athletic conference--coverage spotlights Michigan State University as well as 11 other programs of lesser renown.
